You downloaded the Martin Luther King handwriting font, and I wanted to let you know that an updated version is ready for you to download from your account:

The new version will show up in your font menu as “Martin Luther King 2022 May”. I recommend uninstalling older versions to keep your font menu organized. The next update will arrive in early June 2022.

Let's talk fonts.
This update adds two new signs urgently needed: Question marks. And I like to hear from you! I created a questionnaire.
|
The letters of the Martin Luther King font are based on original manuscripts. The more a handwriting project progresses, the more likely it is to reach the limits of the archives. I remember, for example, working on Sigmund Freud's handwriting that I could not find a capital Q. Freud mainly wrote in German, and the language doesn't have many words starting with Q. There is a similar issue with the capital letter Z in the English language. (Which I still haven't found in the case of Dr. King's handwriting!) But there was one sign missing which was somewhat surprising, the question mark. All the samples I had did not include a question mark.

With this in mind, I reached out to Prof. Clayborne Carson from the Martin Luther King Papers Project at Stanford University. Kindly Carson sent me a scan of a handwritten document, which includes two question marks. The paper is the earliest known text of any sermon King delivered:

This handwritten document, the earliest known text of any sermon King delivered as associate pastor at Ebenezer, illustrates his use of personal experiences and relationships in his preaching. In the sermons he delivered at his home church during the summer of 1949, King displayed a willingness to address the issue of race relations.

Because there were two Question marks, I decided to add both of them to the font. As you type, the font shuffles between the two versions to create a more natural look, and no two exact question marks will stand next to each other:
